And we're back. Hey guys, Travis here, uh, around a month ago, I tease that buzz cast would be changing and now I can tell you what we have been up to. You see when we first launched buzz cast, the idea was we would have one place where we could put all of these different podcasts and shows and episodes and feeds to make it really convenient. So you just have to subscribe one place and then you get everything that we did. But we found that to actually be more confusing than helpful. And so what we decided to do a little over a month ago was split off five minute Monday and podcasting in real life to become their own shows. Right? And if you've been following along, then you know that that's why we haven't been updating this particular podcast feed. But we also had an idea, something that we wanted to do that could be really special and would give you some insight that wouldn't be possible otherwise or with our existing show formats. And so that's what I want to tell you about. Now, what is buzz cast 2.0 so here's what we're doing. Buzz cast from here on out is going to be a biweekly round table discussion between myself, Kevin and Alvin. Now if you listen to these podcasts, I'm guessing you have a pretty good idea of who I am. I'm the head of content, so I'm the one that produces most of our podcast content, most of our blog content and then also a lot of our youtube channels as well. And uh, but then Kevin and Albin you might not be so familiar with. So Kevin is one of buzz sprouts co-founders. So without him, me and Albin don't have jobs in podcasting, so we're very grateful for him. But he brings a really unique perspective as somebody who not only understands the, the, the problems that independent Co podcasters faced and was really at the forefront of creating Buzzsprout over 10 years ago. Uh, but I think also brings a level of understanding and maturity that is going to be super helpful for you. Just to hear from the perspective of someone who is a CEO type person in the podcasting industry. And then Albin is the head of marketing for Buzzsprout. And so he has that expertise, that unfair advantage of really getting in the weeds of helping Buzzsprout be successful. But then a lot of the stuff that he knows is also directly applicable for you and your podcast. And then all of us have opinions about podcasting, about what it means to have a successful podcast. Um, you know, the things that are important, the things you should focus on. And so in these round table discussions, you're going to hear us talk about a number of things, but three kind of main themes. All right, so the first main theme that you'll hear us talk about on these new buzz cast episodes is what's going on at Buzzsprout HQ here in Jacksonville, Florida. So we'll talk about new features, updates within your dashboard, new sections, changes, frequently asked questions that we're seeing in customer support. Like we'll just give you a behind the scenes look at what is going on at our headquarters, at our office and the things that we're thinking about, the things we're excited about. And also get the backstory for like why we roll out different features. So recently we just rolled out the updated version of our soundbite, right, which is our audio wave video player that you can create previews of your episodes for promoting and social media. And so we'll talk about new features like that, like the reason why we made it the best way to use it, those kinds of things. So as we add new things, add new capabilities into your dashboard, we're going to also give you some information and some best practices for how to use those for your podcast. Another theme that you're going to hear on buzz cast moving forward is what's going on in the world of podcasting. There's a lot of industry news, there's a lot of things that are happening, a lot of new players coming in, a lot of changes to different platforms, different directories, and also just seeing changes in the way that people interact with podcasts. And so we're also going to cover those kind of things. Uh, but specifically we're going to talk about industry news in the context of how it affects you as an independent podcaster. Because most of us, at least Kevin Abbott and myself, we nerd out on all of these like Super Techie, uh, you know, newsletters and things like that about podcasting. We recognize that's not necessarily all of your cup of tea. Like you don't want to, you know, understand the difference between different bit rates. Like we get that, but we do want to communicate things that are happening in the, the kind of world of podcasting and how you can utilize those changes to help your show and to reach your personal goals as well. And then the third theme that we're gonna talk about is strategies that we've seen work time and time again. Now these might be monetization strategies, they might be growth strategies or even just discussions around what makes a high quality podcast and, and how do you answer that question for your Shit Yourself? Like are you doing a good job of creating a product episodes that people will love, that they'll tell other people about? And what are some common practices, some best practices that you can apply to make sure that your show is as great as it possibly can be. All right, so those are the kinds of things we're going to talk about on these buzz cast episodes. But you don't have to wait until Friday to hear the first one. In fact, we're going to kick things off this week starting tomorrow with four episodes. So tomorrow and every day this week we'll release a new episode of Buzz cast and then so you'll get a nice idea of the kinds of things we're going to talk about and what the show is going to be like. And then after we post episode for this Friday, July 5th we'll switch to our every other week a posting schedule. And so every other Friday we'll be posting new episodes. Now, one thing that I need from you is some feedback. What are things that you want us to talk about on future episodes? So if you could just jump into the bus route podcast on Facebook and then tag one of us in a post, either Kevin, myself or Alvin. And just letting us know, hey, I think it'd be really great if you talked about this, where I heard the apple podcast was going through these changes. What does that mean for me? Please talk about it on buzz cast. That would be super helpful for us to make sure that the episodes we're creating for you guys are really helpful. But overall, I'm really excited about this podcast. I think it's going to be awesome. Thank you for sticking around for not unsubscribing after we changed everything. Uh, I believe that this show, this new format is really gonna help you in so many ways, but thank you for listening and as always, keep podcasting.
