Speaker 1:

All right. So we are about a week out from podcast movement Most wonderful time of the year. I love podcast movement. I'm so excited about this. I think we had like references before feeling like summer camp summer camp for podcasters. Yeah, you just you just go and hang out all together for like a week and get to do fun stuff and like have parties and get together and just have a good time. I love it.

Speaker 3:

Learn new tools, learn about new shows, and you come back and you've got a queue full of stuff to listen to. That's true.

Speaker 1:

All right. So for the Buzzsprout team, we have two sessions this year. So if you are going to Podcast Movement on Wednesday, so if you are going to Podcast Movement on Wednesday, both Tom and I have sessions that we're speaking at and mine is at 930 am. I don't know why mine are always first thing in the morning. It happens like almost every time.

Speaker 2:

You're such a peppy morning person, I guess it's perfectly fine.

Speaker 1:

You know what? I'm actually excited because it's going to be like ripping off a band-aid. I'm just going to get it done like first thing in the morning and then have the rest of the day just chill.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you don't want to be thinking about that. You have to give a talk all afternoon. Oh yeah, you know that's terrible, yeah, and people are like ready to go in the morning. I think your crowd will be better.

Speaker 1:

Hopefully.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's the time. That's the right time to talk.

Speaker 1:

I have a really fun talk. I'm super excited listener support.

Speaker 2:

This is going to be my first time speaking in the expo hall, so is it going to be one of the sessions where people get headphones to listen to you?

Speaker 1:

I think so. It says creator expert talk stage in the expo hall and I have a feeling that I'm going to be right on stage fighting the ambient conference noise. We'll see what happens.

Speaker 2:

I think it's okay. I like those talks when I go to them as a audience member, do you? It's a pretty neat experience to put on the headphones and sit there and then you can. It just feels a little bit like you're listening to a podcast. For whatever reason. I feel a little bit more connected to the speaker. I can hear them really clearly.

Speaker 1:

Okay, well, that's good. I actually haven't been to one of those, so I'm not sure, like, how well you can hear with headphones and stuff, or how the microphone like.

Speaker 2:

I think it's a better sound, I think it's better audio quality than when you go into a private room, cause even in those private rooms they are sound treated and stuff. But you know, like maybe I just had bad luck, I always sit next to like people behind me or chatting to each other or something, and it still is a room Like there still is a little bit of reverb and stuff. And for people who have like hearing issues, like I do, I have a hard time focusing on certain noises and loud environments. So for me it just lets me focus on the speaker a little bit better and so I think it's great. Like I actually prefer those talks where I can go in, I can get headphones and I can listen.

Speaker 3:

So you're talking about different monetization strategies. You're going to cover at least three or four that you've done. What is Tom talking on?

Speaker 1:

So, tom, he's talking later that day at 3.15 PM. He's talking about understanding podcast statistics. This is great. I mean we had him on I don't even remember when a couple months ago or something like that to talk about podcast statistics. So this is his wheelhouse and it's a great talk. So that's going to be a great one. He's at podcaster stage two. And then, guys, I think this might be the best I heart party possible for you to, because it's at a restaurant. I was a little confused because it's called something like chicken and pickle or chicken pickle or something like that, and I looked up, like what is this? It's a restaurant.

Speaker 1:

It's a restaurant but they also host pickleball tournaments and they have like 11 pickleball courts, so I think that we need to pack our keep podcasting pickleball paddles and see Maybe to give away, but not to use. That's right, because you guys have the fancy ones, huh.

Speaker 3:

We're bringing our pro level paddles. If we're going to play, we're playing to win Jordan.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was thinking about it.

Speaker 2:

I'm like I wonder who's going to challenge you guys, cause I'll already have all my pickleball gear there, because I'm going a few days early to help move my daughter into college and then I have got nothing to do for a couple of days, like a Saturday and Sunday, until you guys arrive. So I figured I'd go try to find some pickleball courts around Fort Worth Dallas area.

Speaker 1:

Yeah so.

Speaker 2:

I'll be ready to go. You're going to be warmed up. Except this feels a little bit weird. Usually at these podcast movement, you know, evening after party things, you don't want to be, I don't know, drenched in sweat.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, running around in Dallas it's still hot, so it's not going to be like a little.

Speaker 2:

It sounds like it's not going to be like a little.

Speaker 1:

It sounds like it's going to be indoors, though I think that they have some courts indoors and some are outdoors.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

So you guys are. Maybe we need to arrive early and secure an indoor court. You guys can just set up camp there.

Speaker 3:

So before this, we're actually going to have the Buzzsprout meetup.

Speaker 1:

Oh really.

Speaker 3:

So Tuesday we are going to find a spot, I think probably five, six. We're going to find a spot, I think probably five, six. We're going to have probably an hour, hour and a half. We'll have drinks, we'll have food.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I'm not drinking anything.

Speaker 3:

I got to stay sharp for pickleball. Yeah Well, we're not drinking water. We'll be hydrating up, we might have a Gatorade and we'll be ready to go for our pickleball championship at the I heart party. But, jordan, actually you said we have two talks breaking news.

Speaker 1:

Oh what.

Speaker 3:

We've got a third talk.

Speaker 1:

Are you serious?

Speaker 3:

Adobe podcast is doing the podcast primer this year and that's going to be on Monday from one to three, and Jay reached out and asked me to come talk about hosting shows and how to get a podcast online and out to directories, and so I'm going to go and talk about Buzzsprout.

Speaker 2:

So that'd be great. Will that just be you from one to three, or are you like a part of a panel, or do you know Well?

Speaker 3:

it's one to three, so it's a full two hour thing. I think Jay from Adobe podcast is doing a lot of it, and then Ariel Nissenblatt is going to be part of it.

Speaker 1:

Of course.

Speaker 3:

I think she's talking about probably the marketing side and probably the some monetization stuff, and I think it's for people we actually, jordan and I did this talk four years ago with Crystal and with Carrie Ann.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

And the idea is you might be coming to podcast movement and I think they got feedback Like some people show up to talks and they go. This is actually a little bit over my head. I don't think I understand some of these terms. So the podcast primer is two hours. We're going to give you everything you need to know to start a podcast. We're going to start at the very basics, we're going to work our way up and so you'll be really comfortable for the rest of the week to keep learning and keep building your knowledge. So I'll be there talking about Buzzsprout and teaching people about how to set up a podcast.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome, and it's on Monday, or is it Tuesday?

Speaker 3:

It's Monday, so it's actually the day before podcast movement really kicks off.

Speaker 2:

Oh wait, wait, wait. I'm putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Now, this is exactly when we're supposed to be setting up our booth, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

Alvin has just worked himself out of booth setup.

Speaker 3:

Sorry guys, I have to go hang out with a bunch of fun podcasters and talk about podcasters. I saw something on the list and then I just reached out. It's like Jay, please get me out of this. I can't hang these LED lights up and tweak each one individually ever again.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, yeah, okay. So yeah, buzzsprout has three talks this year. That's pretty awesome. And then, as always, we're going to have our Buzzsprout booth in the expo hall. So you have to come by, you have to grab swag, you need to get on our text chain so you can be notified when we are doing our meetup, when we're attending certain parties or going to certain sessions, things like that. I think we just kind of do like we don't flood your text messages with things. We're not promoting a ton of things. It's just, hey, we're gonna be here at this time or hey, this is a session that so-and-so is speaking at. You might want to go check that out. It's very limited. So definitely get on that text chain. And then you also need to get some Buzzsprout swag. And it sounds like Kevin, are we doing secret swag just for Buzzcast listeners?

Speaker 2:

I mean I ordered some um. Half of it came in. I uh, I'm not like over the moon about it, but it's fine, Cause I'm kind of testing some like new products with our logos on them and so, yes, I'm happy to give out the stuff that I got. I'm another box might come in. I won't be here, but I have it shipped to the office. So, Alvin, maybe you can grab that if something comes in with my name on it. Yeah, I mean, we always want to meet Buzzcast listeners, whether we have special swag or not. So please come say hi, and if we do get special swag, I'm happy to share it with you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it might be like a limited run, so that's right.

Speaker 3:

We need to make an enamel pin for Buzzcast listeners. We do like one just for everybody who comes in who listened to this show. You know we don't need to make a ton of them, there's not.

Speaker 2:

you know, we know that we only need like 20.

Speaker 3:

Well, we love each and every one of you, so maybe we could try to figure something out.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that'd be awesome, all right, well, I'm super excited for Podcast Movement. If you're going to be going to Podcast Movement, tap the Texas Show link in the show notes to let us know that we're going to see you there, because we'll keep an eye out for you. I'm really excited about it. Yeah, well, until next time. Thanks for listening and keep podcasting.
